2. What Information We Collect

We collect both personal and non-personal information to provide and improve our services. This may include:

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, and social media handles you submit when applying
  • Content Data: Links to your videos, channel performance, and selected music usage
  • Payment Details: Information necessary to process payouts (PayPal email, bank details, etc.)
  • Usage Data: Device type, browser, IP address, and pages visited
  • Cookies & Tracking Data: See our Cookie Policy below

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use your data to:

  • Evaluate your eligibility for our monetization models
  • Communicate with you about your application or account
  • Process payments to you
  • Improve website functionality and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share your information with trusted third parties in the following situations:

  • With analytics and advertising partners (e.g. Google, Meta/Facebook) to track usage and optimize performance
  • With payment processors to complete your transactions
  • With legal authorities when required by law
  • With our service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics/observability, email delivery)

5. YouTube and Google Account Data

This section explains how we access, use, store, and protect data obtained through the YouTube API Services when you connect your Google account to our service. By using features that connect to YouTube, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy (both linked on our site).

How We Access Your Data (OAuth 2.0)

We use Google’s OAuth 2.0 flow. You will see a Google consent screen listing the exact permissions (scopes) we request. We do not receive your Google password. You can review or revoke access at any time in your Google Account → Security → Third-party access.

Permissions (Scopes) We Request and Why

We request only the scopes needed for the features you use:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly — to read aggregated performance analytics for your channel and videos (e.g., views, watch time, audience reports) so we can render analytics and trends in your dashboard.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics-monetary.readonly — to read aggregated estimated revenue and ad metrics (e.g., estimated revenue, ad impressions) so we can show YouTube Partner Program earnings in your dashboard.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly — to read account and content metadata needed to identify your connected channel and your videos (e.g., channel title/thumbnail, video details) and to ensure analytics are associated with the correct assets. This scope does not allow editing or deleting YouTube content.

We do not request write scopes.

Types of Data We May Import

Depending on the scopes you grant and the features you use, we may import:

  • Channel metadata (e.g., channel ID, title, thumbnail).
  • Video metadata (e.g., video ID, title, thumbnails, duration, published date, basic statistics like view/like counts).
  • Analytics aggregates from the YouTube Analytics API (e.g., views, watch time, average view duration, subscribers gained/lost, audience demographics and geographies, traffic sources).
  • Monetary analytics aggregates (e.g., estimated revenue and other ad-related metrics).

All analytics retrieved via the YouTube Analytics API are aggregated reports; we do not receive viewer-level personal data.

We may also create derived data from these imports (for example, trend lines, summaries, validations, or payout calculations) to power product features.

How We Use This Data

We use imported and derived YouTube data to:

  • Render analytics dashboards, reports, and charts for your connected channel and videos.
  • Display estimated YouTube Partner Program revenue where available.
  • Calculate in-product performance and earnings snapshots based on your settings.
  • Provide support and operate, secure, and improve the service (e.g., troubleshooting API errors, reliability monitoring).

We do not sell YouTube data. We do not use YouTube data for targeted advertising or to build advertising profiles unrelated to the features you request.

“Limited Use” and Sharing Commitments

We comply with the YouTube API Services User Data Policy (including the “Limited Use” requirements):

  • We use YouTube data only to provide or improve user-facing features that you choose to enable.
  • We do not transfer YouTube data to third parties except:
    • to our service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics/observability, email delivery) under written agreements that require equivalent protections, or
    • as required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • Human access to YouTube data is strictly limited to legitimate operational needs (e.g., abuse, security, or support) and is logged and audited.

Data Retention

  • Analytics and monetary aggregates: kept while your account remains connected and active so we can show historical trends. If you disconnect or close your account, we delete imported aggregates within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • OAuth tokens (access/refresh): stored solely to maintain the connection; deleted within 7 days after you disconnect or close your account.
  • Backups and logs that may incidentally contain the data above are purged on a rolling schedule within 90 days.
  • Derived, de-identified summaries (that cannot reasonably be linked back to you) may be retained for service analytics and reliability.

Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures, including:

  • Encryption in transit and, for sensitive fields such as OAuth tokens, at rest where applicable.
  • Role-based access controls and the principle of least privilege.
  • Audit logging, monitoring, and regular reviews of access to YouTube data.
  • Secure development practices and vulnerability management.

Your Choices and Controls

  • Disconnect / revoke access at any time: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove our application, or use the disconnection option in our product.
  • Deletion: you may request deletion of imported YouTube data at any time via support@musicalrpm.com or through in-product tools; we will complete deletion within the timeframes above.
  • Access / export: contact us to request a copy of your imported data where feasible.
  • Scope changes: if we need additional permissions in the future, Google will prompt you to grant them—your existing access will not expand without your explicit consent.

  • Google Privacy Policy
